Wednesday Market Watch: Altcoins Freefall Continues, BTC, ETH Holding On
Last edited: Dec 2, 2021
As we reach the midpoint of the week, let’s take a look at the price development of BTC, ETH, and other major altcoins trading on the BTCC platform.
BTC: $57083.29 (+0.27% last 24 hours)
Since the start of this week, BTC has been hovering between the price ranges of $56,000 – $59,000, with no real gains or losses to speak of so far. BTC is one of the only coins in the green in the last 24 hours, and will continue to look to break the $60,000 price level this week.

ETH: $4,570.12 (-1.32% last 24 hours)
ETH has been struggling more today; however, over the course of this week, ETH has actually made gains from around $4,200 to nearing $4,800 before coming down to just below $4,600. Given the trends so far, it seems unlikely that ETH will break the $5,000 price ceiling this week, but with more positive sentiment and increase in trading volume it is certainly plausible to happen before the end of 2021.

ADA: $1.542717 (-0.68% last 24 hours)
DOT: $36.595 (-3.27% last 24 hours)
XRP: $0.99059 (-0.74% last 24 hours)
These three major altcoins have been struggling massively over the past 3 weeks, which is why they are grouped together here. Their price graphs mimic each other in the sense that they are all in freefall mode, consistently dropping in prices while other cryptocurrencies have more or less managed to stabilize or slowly climb up. There is cause for concern for these three altcoins in particular; however, it could also be ripe for long-term investors optimistic in the future upside of these coins looking to enter at a relatively low price points, compared to their much higher prices around 3 weeks ago.
