Why Solana has no max supply?

Could you please explain why Solana doesn't have a maximum supply? I've noticed that many cryptocurrencies have a fixed limit on the total number of coins that can be created, but Solana seems to be an exception. Is there a particular reason behind this design choice? It's intriguing to me how it might affect the economics and sustainability of the Solana network in the long run. Would you mind shedding some light on this matter? Why Solana has no max supply?
