Can you buy SOL on Ledger?

Could you please clarify for me if it's possible to purchase SOL tokens directly through the Ledger platform? I've been hearing a lot about Solana's growing popularity in the crypto sphere and I'm interested in adding it to my portfolio. However, I'm a bit confused about the process of acquiring SOL. Does Ledger facilitate the purchase of SOL, or do I need to use a separate exchange to buy it and then transfer it to my Ledger wallet?
