Is it hard to get a job in UX?

So, I'm curious, is it really that difficult to secure a position in UX design these days? With the industry booming and so many companies recognizing the importance of user experience, it seems like there would be ample opportunities. But I've heard from some folks that the competition is fierce and landing a job can be quite challenging. What's your take on this? Do you think it's genuinely hard to get a job in UX, or is it just a matter of having the right skills and experience?
