I'm wondering if it's necessary to
SAND the surface after applying each coat of osmo oil. I want to make sure I'm doing it correctly for the best finish.

Sanding is generally not required between coats of paint or varnish, as this can create unnecessary dust and potentially damage the underlying layers. Instead, focusing on proper application techniques and allowing sufficient drying time can ensure a smooth and even finish.

However, if imperfections such as bumps, ridges, or debris become apparent on the surface after a coat has been applied, it may be necessary to take additional steps to refine the surface. One such method is de-nibbing, which involves gently removing these imperfections with a soft pad.

De-nibbing can be a useful technique for achieving a flawless finish, as it allows for the removal of minor imperfections without the need for extensive sanding. This can save time and effort, and help to maintain the integrity of the underlying layers.

It is important to note that wire wool should not be used for this purpose, as it can scratch the surface and create even more imperfections. Instead, a soft, non-abrasive pad should be used, such as a microfiber cloth or a foam applicator.

When de-nibbing, it is important to work gently and carefully, taking care not to apply too much pressure or to move the pad in a circular motion, which can create swirl marks. Instead, use light, linear strokes to gently remove any imperfections.
