I've been hearing a lot about pi coins recently and I'm wondering if they will eventually become a real, usable currency like Bitcoin or ether. Could someone explain the possibilities and potential of pi coins becoming a legitimate form of payment in the future?

The Mainnet launch has been rescheduled to the end of 2021. Despite the delay, users will still have the opportunity to mine Pi coins and engage with the network blockchain upon its release.
