Do you lose your money if a coin is delisted?

Hello, could you please clarify something for me? I've been hearing rumors that if a coin gets delisted from an exchange, investors will lose all their money. Is that true? I'm really worried about my investments, especially those in lesser-known coins. Could you explain what happens to the value of those coins when they're delisted? And is there anything investors can do to protect their assets in such cases? Thank you for your help! Do you lose your money if a coin is delisted?
