Why doesn't Disney own Winnie the Pooh anymore?

Excuse me, I'm curious about something. Could you please elaborate on why Disney no longer owns the rights to Winnie the Pooh? I've always assumed they were the sole owners of this beloved character and his stories. Did something change in their ownership rights, or was there some sort of agreement that expired? I'd appreciate any insight you could provide on this matter.
