How do I know if I'm using BitLocker?

When navigating through Windows Explorer, users are presented with a straightforward interface to manage their files and drives. A key feature in ensuring data security is the ability to encrypt drives.

From the context menu, select 'BitLocker Options'. This will open a new window, providing detailed information about the BitLocker encryption status and settings for the selected drive.

Upon opening the 'BitLocker Options' window, one of the first things you'll notice is the status message. If you see the message 'Encryption on', it confirms that your hard drive is indeed encrypted with BitLocker, providing an extra layer of protection for your sensitive data.

To access the encryption status of your drives, first select 'This PC' in the left-hand column of Windows Explorer. This will display all the connected drives and partitions on your system.

On the right-hand side of the window, look out for a padlock icon. This icon serves as a visual indicator, signifying that the corresponding drive is encrypted using BitLocker, a robust encryption technology provided by Microsoft.
