Can a battery pass a load test and still be bad?

I'm wondering if a battery can still be faulty even if it passes a load test. Is it possible that the test doesn't catch all potential issues, or does passing the test guarantee the battery's good health? Can a battery pass a load test and still be bad?

For instance, a battery with high internal resistance may still deliver the required amperage during a test but may struggle to maintain this output under real-world conditions, such as cold temperatures.

Additionally, an old battery or one that has been through numerous charge-discharge cycles may have reduced capacity, even if it meets the CCA rating. This means it may not last as long as a newer or better-maintained battery.

When conducting a battery test, a common assumption is that if the rated amperage is met or exceeded, the battery is in good condition. However, this notion is not always accurate.

In some cases, a battery may seem to perform adequately based on its ability to meet or surpass the rated Cold Cranking Amperage (CCA). Nevertheless, this does not guarantee its overall health or longevity.
