I'm running a regression analysis and I've obtained a p-value that's greater than 0.05. What does this mean for my model and the significance of my results? Should I be concerned or is there another way to interpret this? What if p-value is greater than 0.05 in regression?

In this context, the null hypothesis suggests that there is no relationship between the group of independent variables and the dependent variable. When the p-value is greater than 0.05, we cannot confidently conclude that the independent variables have a statistically significant impact on the dependent variable.

This means that the observed data does not provide sufficient evidence to support the alternative hypothesis, which would assert the existence of a relationship between the variables. As a result, we cannot reliably predict the dependent variable based on the group of independent variables.

It's important to note that a p-value greater than 0.05 does not necessarily mean that there is no relationship between the variables; it simply indicates that the available data is insufficient to prove it with statistical significance. Further research or a larger sample size may be needed to detect a potential relationship.

Statistical significance is a crucial concept in data analysis, particularly when assessing the relationship between variables. When the p-value, a measure of the probability of observing the data given the null hypothesis is true, exceeds 0.05, a threshold commonly used to determine statistical significance, it indicates a lack of strong evidence to reject the null hypothesis.
