I'm dealing with debt collectors who won't stop calling. I can't afford to pay them right now, but they're really starting to stress me out. Is there any way I can make them stop contacting me without having to pay the debt immediately? How do I get rid of debt collectors without paying?

Winning a lawsuit against a debt collector under the FDCPA typically results in the collector being responsible for paying your attorney's fees. This serves as a financial incentive for you to pursue legal action against wrongful debt collection practices.

In addition to attorney's fees, debt collectors may also be required to pay damages if they are found to have violated the FDCPA. This can provide further compensation for individuals who have suffered due to unfair debt collection practices.

If you are experiencing difficulties with debt collection, you have the option to submit a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). This agency is dedicated to protecting consumers from unfair, deceptive, or abusive financial practices.
