I'm wondering if I need to report my Bitcoin transactions or holdings to the IRS. Is there a legal requirement to declare Bitcoin to the tax authorities in the United States? Does Bitcoin have to be reported to IRS?

Reporting income, gains, or losses from taxable transactions involving virtual currency is mandatory.
