I am trying to sell short on TD Ameritrade, but I am unable to do so. I am wondering why this is happening and if there are any specific reasons or restrictions that are preventing me from selling short on this platform.

Opening an account with TD Ameritrade does not automatically grant access to short selling.

Along with the documentation, TD Ameritrade will also provide a form for you to sign, acknowledging that you have read and understood the risks of short selling.
