I'm trying to decide between using SegWit or legacy for my Bitcoin transactions. I've heard about the benefits of both, but I'm not sure which one is better. Can someone help me understand the differences and make a recommendation?
Segwit addresses are shorter and start with the number 3 or the letter bc1. They are designed to reduce transaction fees and increase the speed of transactions.

Bitcoin addresses are categorized into two main types: Legacy and Segwit. Both types serve as unique identifiers for Bitcoin wallets.

Legacy addresses are the original type of Bitcoin addresses, featuring a longer format that begins with the number 1. They have been in use since Bitcoin's inception and are still widely accepted today.

Segwit addresses, on the other hand, are a newer type of Bitcoin address that utilizes a technology called Segregated Witness. This technology improves the efficiency and scalability of the Bitcoin network.

Both Legacy and Segwit addresses are compatible with each other, meaning that you can send Bitcoin from a Legacy address to a Segwit address, and vice versa. However, some wallets may only support one type of address.
