Are IPFS and crypto related?

I've been hearing a lot about IPFS and cryptocurrencies lately, and I'm wondering if there's a direct correlation between the two. From what I understand, IPFS stands for InterPlanetary File System, which aims to create a decentralized network for storing and accessing files. On the other hand, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum are also decentralized networks, but focused on financial transactions. So, are IPFS and crypto related in any significant way? Does IPFS utilize cryptographic techniques similar to those found in cryptocurrencies? Or is the relationship more conceptual, in that both aim to disrupt traditional, centralized systems? Clarifying this relationship would help me better understand the broader implications of these emerging technologies. Are IPFS and crypto related?
