Can you still buy delisted stock?

Can you clarify for me, is it still possible to purchase stocks that have been delisted from a stock exchange? I understand that delisting occurs for various reasons, such as a company failing to meet certain listing requirements or undergoing a merger or acquisition. However, I'm curious if there are any avenues for investors to still acquire shares in these companies, potentially through over-the-counter markets or other alternative trading platforms? Can you still buy delisted stock?

When a security is delisted, it no longer trades on its original exchange, but this does not necessarily mean the end of its trading life. In certain cases, these securities can continue to be traded over-the-counter (OTC).

However, it's important to note that not all delisted securities are eligible for OTC trading. One exception is when a security is delisted with the intention of becoming a private company. In such cases, the security may cease to be publicly traded altogether.
