Meanwhile, on December 21st, 2012, AIG made a decision to divest its entire 13.69% stake in AIA. This move reflected AIG's strategic repositioning and focus on its CORE business segments, while also providing AIA with increased autonomy and flexibility to pursue its own growth objectives.
