How does Enigma work?

The Enigma Machine's working mechanism is fascinating and has been explored in detail by Jared Owen in a YouTube video.

In this video, Owen demonstrates how the Enigma Machine operates by highlighting the role of its three rotors. Each time a key is pressed on the Enigma Machine's keyboard, at least one of these rotors will rotate.

This rotation is crucial as it changes the electrical pathways within the machine, ensuring that each letter is encrypted in a unique way. The rotors are designed to turn in a specific sequence, adding complexity to the encryption process.

When a key is pressed, the rotor that is currently in the "active" position will rotate. This rotation alters the internal wiring of the Enigma Machine, causing the next letter to be encrypted differently.
