Wrapped Pi (WPI) Coin Goes Live on PancakeSwap Exchange

The Pi Bridge is building Pi Network to link to the Binance Chain and all of its DeFi ecosystem. Wrapped Pi (WPI), the Pi Bridge utility token, has launched as an intended bridge between Pi Network and BNB Chain. The token is now open for trading on PancakeSwap platform and is being tracked by CoinMarketCap.

At press time, Wrapped Pi token is trading at $12.46, soaring 204.45% in the last 24 hours. Its 24-hour trading volume is $142,061. In order to trade, investors must add the token address to PancakeSwap. Please note that the Wrapped Pi price is speculatory and does not reflect the value of Pi coin at this time.

How Does Wrapped Pi Work?

Wrapped Pi will operate at a 1:1 ratio with Pi Network Pi Coin, meaning that once a WPI is created, a Pi Coin is locked. The ultimate goal of Wrapped Pi will be a bridge between BNB Chain and Pi Network.

The Wrapped Pi is an unofficial token for the BNB Chain serving as an alternative to the native Pi Coin, as the official connection from the Pi Network core team has not yet been established.

When Pi Network Mainnet launched, Pi Bridge indicates that it will integrate with the Pi blockchain. Pi Bridge is home to decentralized applications (Dapps) available on iOS and Android with features like staking & earning, farming, lending, and e-commerce.

Pi Bridge states in its docs that it is looking to bridge to chains like Polygon and Cosmos in the future. The docs also indicate that more decentralized finance (DeFi) products like liquidity pools will be built for WPI on BNB Chain. Pi Network and the Pi Community would form a powerful duo with BNB Chain.

There has been a lot of exciting news about the Pi Coin. The coin was listed on Huobi exchange on December 29,2022 with a current trading price of around $118. Deposits and withdrawals, however, are not likely to happen until the Pi Network mainnet is launched. Response from the Pi Network community are also divided.

Pi Network has recently asserted that all the recent token listings have been conducted independently of the Core Team. The CoinMarketCap page for Wrapped Pi also reveals that Pi Network has faced recent controversy with a disclaimer atop the page.
