Ukraine Launched the “War Museum” NFT During Russia’s Invasion
With the sympathy of foreigners and large global companies, Ukraine has been receiving donations of cryptocurrency to help fund its counterattack against Russia.
In order to ensure the financial sustainability of Ukrainian military personnel and civilians as they struggle to survive the Russian attack on them, the country has announced the launch of NFT sales as a way to raise funds. In order to further raise funds in the ongoing war, Ukraine has been triggered to launch the sales of NFT series, which is based on the timeline of Russian invasion. According to the announcement, the NFT series, known as the “Meta History: Museum of War”, is designed by tradable items related to every significant event of the war, including ministerial support, records of recent events in the war, and illustrations by Ukrainian and international digital artists.
Ukraine Launched NFT “War Museum”
Weeks have passed since Russia kicked off its life-threatening invasion of Ukraine. The attack threatened the lives of adults and children in Ukraine, which led the country to seek funds and support for its residents, especially the army, to fight back against Russia.
It is worth noting that cryptocurrency has become a very effective tool to help the country promote crowdfunding in the face of adverse times. With the sympathy of foreigners and large global companies, the country has been receiving cryptocurrency donations to help fund the counterattack against Russia.
However, the idea behind the launch of NFT seems to be inspired by the country, which believes that they can survive the Russian invasion by using revolutionary blockchain technology. Ukrainian Minister of digital transformation mykhailo Fedorov announced the NFT launch plan, he said.
“When Russia used tanks to destroy Ukraine, we relied on revolutionary blockchain technology. @Meta_History_UA NFT-Museum was launched. This is a place to retain the memory of war. It is also a place to celebrate Ukraine’s identity and freedom.”
At present, 54 NFTs have been listed in the country, covering the first three days of the war in late February. Sales will start next week, starting with the first NFT. Meanwhile, according to the announcement, the proceeds from NFT sales will be used to support the Ukrainian army and civilians.
