Duo token works as a part of the Duo authentication system. When a user registers, Duo associates a unique key with their identity. During login, a request is sent to Duo servers, which then send an authentication request to the user's device. This request includes a randomly generated session token. The user confirms the request via the Duo app, and upon confirmation, Duo verifies the user's identity and grants access if the authentication is successful.
