What is GNOME GitHub?

GNOME is a collection of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) projects. The source code and assets belonging to GNOME and our affiliated projects are available via our GitLab where they are freely available to be viewed, downloaded, modified, and redistributed.

Who makes Gnome?

We make GNOME, a completely free software solution for everyone. GNOME is led by the non-profit GNOME Foundation. Our board is democratically elected, and technical decisions are made by the engineers doing the work. We are supported by many organizations; employees from over a hundred companies have contributed since the project began.

Where can I find Gnome source code?

Its source code is available on gitlab, and it is packaged in the official repositories of the most used Linux distributions. If you are using recent versions of GNOME or KDE Plasma, chances are the package is already installed. If for some reason, it is not the case, it can be easily installed.
