It is governed by the GICHD Council of Foundation and receives advice from the AMAT Advisory Council. AMAT is financed by: Austria, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the European Union and the UN Office for Disarmament Affairs. AMAT is in 2021 ten staff members from diverse backgrounds.
