Is video grabber legit?

I've been hearing about this video grabber software that claims to be able to capture and download videos from various streaming platforms. But I'm a bit hesitant to try it out, as I'm not sure if it's legitimate or not. Can you tell me more about it? Is it SAFE to use? Are there any legal implications that I should be aware of?
