I'm wondering if it's bad to let my car idle at 1000 RPM. I've heard different opinions on this and I'm not sure if it's harmful to the engine or not. Could someone please clarify this for me? Is idling at 1000 bad?

Older engines tend to have higher idle speeds, potentially reaching up to 1200 rpm or even more during the warming-up phase.

High idle speeds are not only inefficient but also wasteful, as they consume more fuel than necessary.
